The Ferdiad Cycle
White magic is used by channeling the magical powers existing within Drystan. True mastery of it can only be achieved by linking several aspects of it together. These combinations have been found by using an ancient Vod-hin relic known as Feinn’s Wheel. It acts as a cypher that can be used to see which domains can be successfully combined together by rotating the outer wheels and aligning the different symbols to form chains of words that represent the different aspects of the world that have powers, which in turn can be used to fuel the power of a divine spellcaster. Only six combinations consisting of four domains exist.
Originally a huge mechanism made of obsidian and with four interlocked parts revolving around each other with mystic symbols carved into it in the dead language of the Vod-hin, Feinn’s Wheel has been since replicated hundreds of times, subsidizing obsidian with oak – a tree thought to draw white magic. Even miniature versions of it are worn by many as a holy symbol of Corwynt. The original wheel was found by the Ellysian explorer and adventurer Dalin Feinn in the year 87, though few if any know where it lies today.
