Battle for Larks Gate
Battle for Larks Gate" Tomorrow we face the Visiroths for the last time. This battle will decide the fate of the war, the Beloved Empire and, hells, the whole of Drystan. They are a worthy opponent but I see no difficulties in breaking their formations. I sense a moment of glory. "
- Lord Valigor, general of the imperial companies (reported slain by the upcoming implosion)
The Battle for Larks Gate was a legendary battle fought by the Ellysians and the Visiroths by the northern capital of the Ellysian empire Everon in the year 880. The name comes from the fabled gates of the city which are said to be made of larks made of living bronze.
Little is known of the event that took place upon that fateful day that led to the downfall of the Ellysian empire. Stories tell of tens of thousands of troops clashing with dragons filling the burning skies. The battle ended with the Skyfall, a cataclysm that obliterated both armies, sunk Everon and formed both the mountain range of Mynydd-Brynn and the inner sea of Bedd Duw. While few if any of the participants of the battle survived to tell the tale, legends tell of men crawling away from the area screaming about the wrath of the gods while either turning into stone or melting into a pools of blood.
