Old Faith

Before the Ellysians forced their manners and gods to the tribesmen of Aenoria the people worshipped hundred of different gods and spirits. The were the gods of trees, rivers and stones, guardians of nature. Elaborate rituals were performed by the druids to please and coax them into giving a bountiful harvest and protection against enemies.

Time passed and by the end of the Imperial Cycle the old gods were forgotten or melded together creating Corwynt, a mix between the Old Faith and the Imperial Cults. The druids are an extinct tradition that no-one has seen for centuries. While Corwynt is easily the most popular religion in Aenoria some of the Northerners and the Hillpeople still remember the old god and worship them by the sacred Soultrees – ancient oaks with human faces carved into their sides. The different gods and spirits number in the hundreds but all know of the Green Man – the oldest god of man and embodiment of nature.
