Skyfall

" See man’s folly
in all it’s horrible glory,
Destruction unheard
is their fate,
If not the duty of the damned. "
- Olysseir of Befloth

The disaster that led to the destruction of the Ellysian empire and shaped the form of much of the north-east into it’s current form is today called the Skyfall. It occurred during the Battle for Larks Gate for unknown reasons and wiped out both the Ellysians and the Visiroth main armies in a blink of an eye.

Stories are told of the mountains of Mynydd-Brynn rising to the skies in an instant and the waters rising to claim the city of Everon, forming the inner sea of Bedd Duw. The plains of northern Aenoria were shifted into the rugged wastelands they are today as the tremors were felt as far as Phygosia where the Prophetess’ statue cracked before the dismal eyes of it’s caretakers.

The cause of the cataclysm has baffled scholars to this day. While there is little doubt of it’s magical nature it is widely believed to have been a divine punishment of the gods tired of the endless slaughter caused by the war.
